Staff & Consultants

Ed "Spider" Sanders

As Vice President, and Executive Consultant, Sanders has over 25 years in Communications Management and Executive Administration with General Motors and EDS. Former International Basketball player, he co-founded 50 Hoops Sports Marketing for prostate cancer education, after he was diagnosed in 1995. He directs and manages full administrative and production activities of the company. He was co-founder of the International Black Network Exchange (IBNE) which traveled to South Africa and world-wide networking African Americans with other Black businesses throughout the world. Clients included AT&T, NIKE and Coca Cola. In 1995 he organized “South African Hoop Dreams” for President Nelson Mandella as part of a black youth health,healing and motivational outreach. Sanders is a member of 100 Black Men of America, Inc.

Patricia Sanders, APR

Senior Consultant for P&E Associates. She has developed and partnered both national and international programs from inception to implementation. Former Senior Vice President, PR, Community Relations, Public Affairs and Special Events with Blue Cross, AT&T and Vice President International PR Operations for Philip Morris Industrial. She's been an International Speaker, TV and Radio personality in South Africa, Canada, Caribbean and London. She has over 30 years experience in creating community and health projects, events, team management, directing local community teams for program implementation, marketing, and promotions. With her husband, Ed, they developed the 50 Hoops and NPFR program models for national African American outreach initiatives. Ms. Sanders has been principle fundraiser and solicitor of VIP and Celebrity support for the organization since it’s inception. She heads the consultants who develop the community and media outreach for all national programs. Accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America, Ms. Sanders is a 33-year PR veteran. She’s been named Who’s Who Among Black Americans for over 20 years.

Portia "Pfath" Tucker

With over 17 years experience in web and software development, Project Management, Process Development and Volunteer Training. Ms. Tucker directs and manages programs and data collection. She has worked for major corporate companies including AMR Corporation, Lone Star Gas, MBNA, Alltel and others. Her ability is one of providing "Big 8" solutions to the small company. Her responsibilities include business planning, web site development and maintenance, document development and procedures for producing the disease-related projects,health fairs; internet marketing, management of national consultants, labor and volunteers for events and projects; national program administration and automating reporting using state-of-the arts technology. Ms. Tucker is the Senior statistician and data collector for all programs. She develops generic maps and processes for each city’s program.

Veronica "Ronnie" Mackey:

Ms. Mackey handles all media related duties for P&E Associates and NPFR including the development and placement of feature articles, public service announcements (scripts, audio and video tapes), and other forms of publicity in local and national media outlets. She secures celebrity spokespersons, and supervises media activities of consultants. She brings to P&E Associates 20 plus years experience as a journalist, including four years as founder of Mackey Media Services and as editor of a health magazine in Los Angeles. Ms. Mackey joined our team in 2001. She has Managed media departments for two regional corporations and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of media relations, including the development of national media campaigns. For eight years, she has helped the organization gain media presence throughout all mediums (print, broadcast and electronic). She develops, places and coordinates publicity in mainstream and ethnic publications and talk shows; pitches story ideas to editors and producers. She has obtained vast news coverage, and supervised consultants in key cities for the company.

Melody McDowell

Adds professionalism and well connected communications and community service to the team. Her accolades extend from CNN, New York Times and Wall Street Journal to ABC, CBS and NBC network affiliates. She is organizer, press agent, program coordinator. Her capabilities extend to packaging for presentations, researching and working with most effective media and booking key leaders into fertile media markets. Ms. McDowell also writes for and edits some of the most prestigious Minority Business publications in the country. Ms. McDowell’s clients have included National Bar Association, Soft Sheen Products, University of Chicago, WGN Television and Coca Cola. Her success is based upon developing workable relationships, keeping commitments, and responding quickly and efficiently. Her team specialty is helping to increase our client’s visibility in the African American consumer market and general consumer markets in the cities we outreach.

Lark Godwin- Leet

Concentration on the study of non profit organization development, Ms. Leet has served as an IRB investigator in Northern California, and a consultant in areas of privacy laws affecting family participation in clinical trials. Her former work with nonprofits has included program medical research and curriculum development.

Cheryl L. Allin

Assisted in the coordination and initial launch of NPFR web site, Expert in internet research and networking. Ms. Allin has maintained extensive Access database, managed vendor relations to ensure timely reception and delivery of products, managed marketing campaigns utilizing affiliate marketing programs and pay-per-click programs. She conducts physician and family searches and reviews, coordinated networking functions for ONLINE partnerships, resulting in new support for NPFR. Ms. Allin is also experienced in working with NetMeeting software and intelligent solutions. Her consulting clients have included AMD; Intel and Xerox.

Valerie Gallup

Compiles information, does Medical Research for NPFR. She has designed on air graphics for television, produced and directed news programs, wrote script for news and talk shows programs, and public service announcements. Having hosted a morning TV show, Ms. Gallup is experienced in setting up feature segments for TV and radio. She has created and packaged projects for major TV networks, and promoted programs on radio stations for markets.
